An Ordinance to amend the Co-operative Societies Ordinance 1939

Short title

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Co-operative Societies (Amendment) Ordinance (No. 4) 1987.¹

Commencement

2. This Ordinance shall be deemed to have come into operation on 11 September 1987.

Association of assets with primary object

3. Section 14AB of the Co-operative Societies Ordinance 1939² is amended by omitting subsection (5) and substituting the following subsection:

“(5) In subsection (1), ‘prescribed percentage’ means:

(a) during the period beginning on 11 September 1987 and ending at the expiration of 30 June 1988—46 per cent; or

(b) at any other time:

(i) 50 per cent: or

(ii) if another percentage is prescribed—that other percentage.”.
