EXPLANATORY STATEMENT
Overview
The Gungahlin Drive Extension Authorisation
Regulation 2004 makes four additional territory laws relevant laws under section
9 of the Gungahlin Drive Extension Authorisation Act 2004.
This Regulation makes the following legislation relevant laws under the
Gungahlin Drive Extension Authorisation Act:
• Public Roads Act 1902,
• Roads and Public Places Act 1937,
• Road Transport (Safety
and Traffic Management) Act 1999, and
• Heritage Act 2004
All
of these laws are relevant to aspects of the construction of the Gungahlin Drive
Extension project, and for this reason it is important they are included in the
Gungahlin Drive Extension Authorisation Act.
