An Act to amend the Local Government Act 1993 to enable councils to prohibit
roadside vehicle sales.

The Legislature of New South Wales enacts: 1

This Act is the Local Government Amendment (Roadside Vehicle Sales) 3

2 Commencement 5
This Act commences on the date of assent to this Act. 6
3 Amendment of Local Government Act 1993 No 30 7
(1) Section 632 Acting contrary to notices erected by councils 8
Insert ", except as provided by subsection (2B)," after "must not" in 9
section 632 (2A) (b). 10
(2) Section 632 (2B) 11
Insert after section 632 (2A): 12
(2B) A notice may prohibit the parking of a vehicle, for the 13
purpose of offering the vehicle for sale, in a public place 14
that is a road or road related area within the meaning of the 15
Road Transport (General) Act 2005. 16
