The Parliament of Queensland enacts-- 1

This Act may be cited as the Nature Conservation (Protected 4
Plants) and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2013. 5
Clause 2 Commencement 6
This Act commences on a day to be fixed by proclamation. 7

(1) Section 67(8)(b)(i), before `conservation plan'-- 14

(1) A regulation may prescribe a least concern plant 8
to be a special least concern plant for this 9

(2) A least concern plant may be prescribed under 11
subsection (1) if the taking or use of the plant is 12
at risk of not being ecologically sustainable, 13
including, for example, because of-- 14
(a) high commercial demand for the plant or a 15
part of the plant; or 16
(b) the biological traits of the plant. 17

habitat or an area of major interest. 16
(2) A local government must not issue or give any 17
approval, consent, permit or other authority for a 18
use of, or a development on, the land that is 19
inconsistent with the regulation. 20
