The Parliament of South Australia enacts
as follows:
This Act may be cited as the Constitution (Oath of Allegiance)
Amendment Act 2003.
This Act will come into operation on a day to be fixed by
proclamation.
In this Act, a provision under a heading referring to the
amendment of a specified Act amends the Act so specified.
Part 2—Amendment of Constitution Act 1934
4—Amendment of section 42—Oath of allegiance
(1) Section 42(1)—delete the oath appearing in
quotation marks and substitute:
"I, ,
swear that I will faithfully serve the people of South Australia and advance
their welfare and the peace, order and good government of the State. So help me
God!"
(2) Section 42(2)—delete subsection (2)
