The Parliament of South Australia enacts as follows:

Part 1—Preliminary

1—Short title

This Act may be cited as the Road Traffic (Compulsory Blood Tests) Amendment Act 2007.

2—Amendment provisions

In this Act, a provision under a heading referring to the amendment of a specified Act amends the Act so specified.

Part 2—Amendment of Road Traffic Act 1961

3—Amendment of Schedule 1—Oral fluid and blood sample processes

(1) Schedule 1, clause 2—after paragraph (e) insert:

(ea) the other container containing the sample must as soon as reasonably practicable be taken by a police officer to the laboratory in which the sample is to be analysed;

(eb) the sample contained in the container referred to in paragraph (ea) must be analysed as soon as reasonably practicable after being received in the laboratory in which the sample is to be analysed;

(2) Schedule 1, clause 7—after paragraph (e) insert:

(ea) the other container containing the sample must as soon as reasonably practicable be taken by a police officer to the laboratory in which the sample is to be analysed;

(eb) the sample contained in the container referred to in paragraph (ea) must be analysed as soon as reasonably practicable after being received in the laboratory in which the sample is to be analysed;
