(1)  The Regulator may, by instrument in writing, appoint any of the following persons as inspectors:

(a) with the approval of the Head of a State Service Agency, a State Service officer or State Service employee, or class of State Service officer or State Service employee, employed in that Agency;

(b) a person who is appointed or employed by the Commonwealth.

(2)  A State Service officer or State Service employee appointed as an inspector under subsection (1) may hold the office of inspector in conjunction with State Service employment.

(3)  In exercising powers or performing functions as an inspector, an inspector must comply with any directions of the Regulator.
