A building contractor who enters into a residential building work contract must ensure the contract (a) is in written form when it is entered into; or(b) is put into written form (i) as soon as practicable (but in any case within 5 business days) after it is entered into; and(ii) before residential building work begins to be performed under the contract.Penalty: In the case of (a) a body corporate, a fine not exceeding 800 penalty units; or(b) an individual, a fine not exceeding 300 penalty units.
