RADIATION PROTECTION REGULATIONS 2006 (S.R. 2006, NO. 37) - REG 21

Maximum radiation activity into sewer

(1)  In this regulation –
annual limit on intake , for a radionuclide, means the amount of that radionuclide that, if taken into the body of a person in a single intake, would irradiate that person to an internal effective dose of 20 millisieverts in the 50-year period commencing on the date of the intake.
(2)  A person must ensure that the maximum quantity of radioactive material that is disposed of under regulation 20 into a sewer is a quantity that does not exceed, in any 7-day period, 20 times the annual limit on intake for a radionuclide.
Penalty:  Fine not exceeding 250 penalty units.
