Schedule 6 to the Principal Rules is amended by omitting "appointed or employed for the purposes of the Emergency Services Act 1976 " from clause 2(b) of Division 1 of Part 2 and substituting "appointed or employed for the purposes of the Emergency Management Act 2006 or registered as a volunteer member of the State Emergency Service under section 28(2)(b) of that Act" .

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These regulations amend the Road Rules so as to –

(a) provide that transport inspector exemptions will only apply to transport inspectors driving vehicles if the vehicles display blue or red, rather than magenta, flashing lights; and

(b) make changes consequent on the enactment of the Emergency Management Act 2006 .
