EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the regulation)

These regulations, which replace the Threatened Species Protection Regulations 1996 consequent on their repeal under the Subordinate Legislation Act 1992 , make provision in relation to –

(a) permits for dealing with endangered, vulnerable or rare taxa of flora or fauna listed in a Schedule to the Threatened Species Protection Act 1995 ; and

(b) the keeping and provision of records of those dealings; and

(c) the tagging or marking of listed taxa authorised to be taken under permits; and

(d) other miscellaneous matters for the purposes of that Act.
