SYNOD ACT AMENDMENT ACT 2009 (BALLARAT DIOCESE)
A Bill for an Act No. 6, 2009
A Bill for an Act to amend the Synod Act 1988-2000
Synod Act Amendment Act 2009
Be it enacted by the Bishop the Clergy and the Laity of the Anglican Church
of Australia in the Diocese of Ballarat duly met in Synod
according to law as
follows:
- This
Act may be cited as the ‘Synod Act Amendment Act 2009’.
- For
the purpose of this Act, the Synod Act 1988-2000 shall be known as ‘the
principal Act’.
- This
Act comes into operation on the date on which it receives the assent of the
Bishop.
- Section
28 of the principal Act is amended by deleting the words ‘the Chairman of
each of the Missionforce Committees’.
- Sections
30 is inserted into the principal Act after Section 29 as follows:-
- The
Bishop shall convene at least one session of the Synod in every calendar
year.”
- Section
18 of the Principal Act is amended by deleting the word ‘fourteen’
and replacing it with the word ‘thirty’.
