(1) The use, or disclosure to the Regulator, an authorised officer, a member of a Panel or an independent investigator, of information under this Part in good faith and with reasonable care—
(a) does not for any purpose constitute unprofessional conduct or a breach of professional ethics on the part of the person by whom it is made; and
(b) does not make the person by whom the use or disclosure is made subject to any liability in respect of that use or disclosure; and
(c) does not constitute a contravention of a provision referred to in section 207(2).
(2) Without limiting subsection (1), a matter is published on an occasion of absolute privilege for the purposes of section 27 of the Defamation Act 2005 if the matter is disclosed to the Regulator under section 195 or 197 in good faith.
(3) If there is an inconsistency between this section and the Public Interest Disclosures Act 2012 , that Act prevails to the extent of that inconsistency.
