Victorian Numbered Acts Victorian Numbered Acts(1) On becoming aware that Victoria Police is investigating the conduct of a WCES worker or carer, unless the Chief Commissioner of Police advises that the police investigation is completed or agrees that an investigation under this Part may commence or continue in consultation with Victoria Police—
(a) the Regulator, an authorised officer or an independent investigator must not commence or continue an investigation under this Part into that conduct; and
(b) the Regulator must not convene a Panel in relation to the investigation of that conduct or refer the investigation to a Panel; and
(c) a Panel convened in relation to the investigation of that conduct must not commence or continue to deal with the investigation.
(2) In this section, an investigation by Victoria Police includes any court proceeding (including an appeal) arising out of the investigation.
