A Bill for
An Act to amend the Aboriginal Affairs Planning Authority Act 1972
and to consequentially amend the Unclaimed Money Act 1990.
The Parliament of Western Australia enacts as follows:

1 Part 1 -- Preliminary
2 1. Short title
3 This is the Aboriginal Affairs Planning Authority Amendment
4 Act 2012.
5 2. Commencement
6 This Act comes into operation as follows --
7 (a) sections 1 and 2 -- on the day on which this Act
8 receives the Royal Assent;
9 (b) the rest of the Act -- on a day fixed by proclamation.

16 (1) In this section --
17 commencement day means the day on which the
18 Aboriginal Affairs Planning Authority Amendment
19 Act 2012 section 4 comes into operation;
20 former provisions means Part IV of this Act as it was
21 in force immediately before its deletion by the
22 Aboriginal Affairs Planning Authority Amendment
23 Act 2012.
24 (2) The estate of a person who died before commencement
25 day must be distributed or otherwise dealt with after
26 commencement day as if the former provisions had not
27 been deleted.
