A Bill for
An Act to amend the Child Support (Adoption of Laws) Act 1990.
The Parliament of Western Australia enacts as follows:

1 1. Short title
2 This is the Child Support (Adoption of Laws) Amendment
3 Act 2012.
4 2. Commencement
5 (1) Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6(1) come into operation on the day on
6 which this Act receives the Royal Assent.
7 (2) Unless it is deleted by section 3(1), section 6(2) comes into
8 operation on 1 January 2013.
9 (3) Unless it is deleted by section 3(2), section 6(3) comes into
10 operation on 1 July 2013.
11 3. Conditional deletions
12 (1) If, after 1 July 2012 but on or before 1 January 2013, an
13 amendment is made to the Child Support (Assessment) Act 1989
14 (Commonwealth) other than by the Social Security and Other
15 Legislation Amendment (Disability Support Pension
16 Participation Reforms) Act 2012 (Commonwealth), section 6(2)
17 is deleted.
18 (2) If, after 1 July 2012 but on or before 1 July 2013, an amendment
19 is made to the Child Support (Assessment) Act 1989
20 (Commonwealth) other than by the Social Security and Other
21 Legislation Amendment (Disability Support Pension
22 Participation Reforms) Act 2012 (Commonwealth), section 6(3)
23 is deleted.
24 4. Act amended
25 This Act amends the Child Support (Adoption of Laws)
26 Act 1990.

2 In section 3(a) delete "1 October 2010; and" and insert:

4 1 July 2012; and

6 Note: The purpose of this amendment is to ensure that the adoption by
7 Western Australia of the Child Support (Registration and Collection)
8 Act 1988 (Commonwealth) extends to that Act as amended --
9 (a) on 19 April 2011 by the Statute Law Revision Act 2011
10 (Commonwealth); and
11 (b) on 1 July 2011 by the Human Services Legislation Amendment
12 Act 2011 (Commonwealth); and
13 (c) on 4 August 2011 by the Child Support (Registration and
14 Collection) Amendment Act 2011 (Commonwealth); and
15 (d) on 27 December 2011 by the Acts Interpretation Amendment
16 Act 2011 (Commonwealth); and
17 (e) on 30 June 2012 by the Social Security and Other Legislation
18 (2012 Budget and Other Measures) Act 2012 (Commonwealth)
19 Sch. 7.
20 6. Section 4 amended
21 (1) In section 4(b) delete "1 October 2010; and" and insert:

25 Note: This amendment is made to ensure that the adoption by Western
26 Australia of the Child Support (Assessment) Act 1989
27 (Commonwealth) extends to that Act as amended --
