A Bill for
An Act to provide for the Minister to give directions in writing to the
Professional Combat Sports Commission with respect to the exercise
by the Commission of its powers generally or with respect to a
particular matter.
The Parliament of Western Australia enacts as follows:

1. Short title
This is the Professional Combat Sports Amendment Act 2007.
2. Commencement
This Act comes into operation on the day on which this Act
5 receives the Royal Assent.
3. Professional Combat Sports Act 1987 amended
This Act amends the Professional Combat Sports Act 1987.
4. Section 9A inserted
After section 9 the following section is inserted --
10 "
9A Minister may give directions
(1) The Minister may give directions in writing to the
Commission with respect to its functions and powers,
either generally or with respect to a particular matter,
15 and the Commission shall give effect to any such
direction.
(2) The text of any direction given under subsection (1)
shall be included in the annual report submitted by the
accountable authority of the Commission under Part 5
20 of the Financial Management Act 2006.
".
