LAW VIA THE INTERNET CONFERENCE 2003

AustLII hosted the 5th Conference on Computerisation of Law via the Internet from 26-28 November in Sydney. We would like to thank all our speakers, sponsors and delegates in making the conference such a success.

CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS


SEARCH LEGAL PUBLISHERS FACILITY

The Search Legal Publishers Facility adds the ability to search for documents on Legal Publishers' websites. This facility now makes searchable all CCH subscription content. For current CCH subscribers, you will be able to access seamlessly CCH materials from the Legal Publishers search results page.

NEW DATABASES

"High Court of Australia" (AustLII)
This database contains full text of all decisions of the High Court of Australia since its inception in 1903. It is now among the few complete free access online national courts databases of any country, back to the first decision of the Court.

Thanks to Thomson Legal & Regulatory Pty Ltd for the generous provision of a complete digital set of decisions 1903-47.

FREE ACCESS TO LAW MOVEMENT - NEW PARTICIPANTS

Welcome to the new participants in the free access to law movement.

DROIT FRANCOPHONE

Legal portal of the Intergovernmental Agency of French Speaking Countries developed in collaboration with LexUM (Public Law Research Centre, University of Montreal). Access to the legal resource sites is by region, by individual country and by content including international resources, civil society, public administration, legislation, caselaw, academic legal areas, the legal profession, news, journals, conferences and general legal information sites. Also includes databases of full text legislation and caselaw for selected countries.

SOUTHERN AFRICAN LEGAL INFORMATION INSTITUTE (SAFLII)

The Southern African Legal Information Institute (SAFLII) is a prototype system produced from data developed and published by the University of the Witswaterand Law School with assistance from the Australasian Legal Information Institute (AustLII).

It currently contains decisions from the Constitution Court of South Africa, the Supreme Court of Appeal of South Africa and the Land Claims Court of South Africa, selected South African Consolidated Legislation and publications of the South African Law Commission.

The Southern African category pages of the WorldLII Catalog are jointly maintained by Wits Law School and AustLII.

This project aims to make searchable from one location all of the databases specialising in Law Reform available on any of the Legal Information Institutes (LIIs) that are part of WorldLII. HUMAN RIGHTS
"Centre for Human Rights" (South Africa) Provides legal education on human rights through academic programmes and research, including education, research and training on gender issues. Publishes the Human Rights Law in Africa Series, the African Human Rights Law Journal and Occasional Papers. Also contains the South African Bill of Rights and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in all eleven official languages of South Africa. The Centre is based at the University of Pretoria.
