The Legislative Assembly of the Northern Territory enacts as follows:
This Act may be cited as the Associations Amendment Act 2012.
This Act amends the Associations Act.
(1) Section 110(6)(d) and (8)(d)
omit
to grant the lease.
insert
to grant the lease; or
(2) After section 110(6)(d) and (8)(d)
insert
(e) to grant a lease in relation to part of the land to an incorporated association, an incorporated trading association, an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander corporation or a person, for:
(i) commercial purposes, including a community store; or
(ii) purposes relating to infrastructure; or
(iii) public purposes, including the provision of essential services.
