An Act to amend the Accommodation Providers Act 1981, the Agents Licensing Act 1979, the Business Names (National Uniform Legislation) Implementation Act 2012, the Classification of Publications, Films and Computer Games Act 1985, the Victims of Crime Rights and Services Act 2006 and for related purposes

The Legislative Assembly of the Northern Territory enacts as follows:

Part 1 Preliminary matters
1 Short title

This Act may be cited as the Justice and Licensing Legislation Amendment Act 2022.

2 Commencement

(1) Subject to subsection (2), this Act commences on the day fixed by the Administrator by Gazette notice.

(2) If a provision of this Act does not commence before 1 February 2024, it commences on that day.

Part 2 Amendment of Accommodation Providers Act 1981
3 Act amended

This Part amends the Accommodation Providers Act 1981.

13 Transitional matters for Justice and Licensing Legislation Amendment Act 2022

(1) A notice in accordance with the Schedule as in force immediately before the commencement, displayed in accordance with section 6(2), is taken to be the notice set out in the Schedule as in force after the commencement.

(2) In this section:

commencement means the commencement of Part 2 of the Justice and Licensing Legislation Amendment Act 2022.
