An Act to amend the Public Holidays Act 1981

The Legislative Assembly of the Northern Territory enacts as follows:

1 Short title

This Act may be cited as the Public Holidays Amendment Act 2022.

2 Commencement

This Act is taken to have commenced on 19 September 2022.

3 Act amended

This Act amends the Public Holidays Act 1981.

4 Section 5A inserted

After section 5

insert

5A Public holiday for the National Day of Mourning for Queen Elizabeth II

The day of 22 September 2022 is to be observed as a public holiday in the Territory.

5 Repeal of Act

This Act is repealed on the day after the day on which the Administrator's assent to this Act is declared.
