Shop Trading Reform Amendment
(Easter Sunday) Bill 2011
A Bill for an Act to amend the Shop Trading Reform Act 1996 to
remove shop trading restrictions on Easter Sunday, and for other
purposes.
The Parliament of Victoria enacts:
1 Purpose
The purpose of this Act is to amend the Shop
Trading Reform Act 1996--
(a) to remove shop trading restrictions on Easter
5 Sunday; and
(b) to repeal section 5A of that Act which
provides for Easter Sunday exemptions; and
(c) to make other minor amendments.
2 Commencement
10 This Act comes into operation on the day after the
day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent.

4 Repeal of section 5A
Section 5A of the Shop Trading Reform Act
1996 is repealed.
5 Repeal of Amending Act
15 This Act is repealed on the first anniversary of
the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.
Note
The repeal of this Act does not affect the continuing operation of
the amendments made by it (see section 15(1) of the
20 Interpretation of Legislation Act 1984).
