Rule 51 of the Principal Rules is amended as follows:

(a) by omitting the definition of excess abalone from subrule (1) and substituting the following definition:

specified period means –

(a) 30 days after the licence holder has been notified by the Secretary that the licence holder has excess abalone for that quota period; or

(b) such greater period, if any, as the Secretary determines.

(b) by inserting in subrule (3) ", within the specified period," after "she" .
